Word for the Day – Last Shall be First and First Last

“LAST SHALL BE FIRST AND FIRST LAST”

MATT. 19:27-30; 20:1-16 (Hold Reading)

INTRODUCTION:
A. This parable in chapter 20, which as been give the title “Laborers In The Vineyard”, is an exposition (explanation) by Jesus Himself on the state-ment He made in the last verse of chapter 19. That statement being: “But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.”
1. Notice, He begins chap 20, vs. 1 with “FOR” meaning “because.”
B. By studying this exposition we discover several important truths for believers as workers in the vineyard, and what we can expect” in the evening”, or when we are called and reward is given for our labors in the kingdom of God.
2 We’re going to look closely at this parable and seek to discover new truths as it relates to our service in His kingdom, and why “The Last Shall Be First And The First Last.”
